Why Project MIND

Care over checklists.

Children aren't defined by charts or checkboxes. Instead of focusing on compliance, we focus on warmth, safety, and progress that means something to your family.

Your child sets the pace

Sessions start with your child choosing the first activity, and a no — spoken or shown — changes what happens next. That's assent-based practice, and it's the foundation of everything here.

Trauma-informed, and verifiable

Distress gets comfort, never planned ignoring. Cameras are always active, and parents may observe any session, any time. Trust you can check beats trust we claim. See how it's different →

Support for the whole family

Parents, siblings, and caregivers are part of the team. Our parent collaboration sessions give you practical tools so growth continues long after the session ends.

Common questions

Answers for parents

I've read that ABA can be harmful. How is Project MIND different?

That question deserves a real answer, not a brush-off. Autistic adults who grew up with older, compliance-driven ABA have described drills, ignored distress, and rewards for hiding who they were. Those accounts are real, and they shaped how we built this clinic. Here, sessions run on assent: your child's no changes what happens next. Distress gets comfort, never planned ignoring. Stimming isn't a treatment target unless it's causing harm. Goals are written around communication, independence, and joy — never around making your child seem less autistic. You don't have to take our word for any of it: parents may observe any session, unannounced, and cameras are always active. Our Why Trauma-Informed ABA page walks through the whole answer.

At what age should we start?

Our EIBI program begins as early as 18 months, and earlier support means more time learning through play. But there's no deadline on growth — we serve children and young people through age 22, and wherever your child is today is a fine place to start.

How much does ABA therapy cost?

For most of our families, very little or nothing out of pocket: Nevada Medicaid and most major insurers cover ABA therapy in Nevada. We verify your benefits and explain everything before you commit to anything.

Does a school evaluation qualify my child?

Insurance requires a medical diagnosis — one from a physician or psychologist — which is different from a school eligibility evaluation. If the school evaluation is all you have so far, you're closer than you think: call us and we'll point you to the right next step, then be ready when you are.

Can I watch my child's sessions?

Any time, no appointment needed. Cameras are always active throughout the center, and the observation policy has no fine print. We built it this way so you never have to wonder.
